Edelbrock 1406 Idle Mixture Adjustment. As jimm said above, i pulled the top off the carb and the floats were way out of adjustment. It does run, but not well.

My sbc 350 is 1 1/4 dad's olds is about 1 1/3 so that should get you running. #4 · feb 6, 2009. Screw the mixture screws in until it starts to stumble.
Adjust This Thing With The Air Cleaner Installed.
I just put a carburetor kit in my edelbrock 600 cfm 4 barrel caburetor (1406). That's extremely lean in the cruise mode and can cause hesitation or a stumble as it transitions to power mode. It's usually easier to just rotate the cam all the way and then let the screw come down on.

Basically my ‘75 camaro won’t idle when it’s cold, unless i open the butterflies on the choke. The edelbrock needs a bit leaner idle mixture setting to run right. Matter of fact fast idle is usually spec'd with the engine warm.
The Carb For This Project Will Be An Edelbrock Performer 600 Cfm Carburetor With A Manual Choke, Part #1405, As Installed On A Mopar 318 Cid (5.2L) V8.
Fully warm engine and ensure choke is fully open. We're going to adjust the mixture screws so that they are metered correctly. Neither the mixture or timing, at the settings you stated, will cause the motor to fast idle with the throttle blades completely closed.
Didn't Matter Much On Either One, Either One Closed Increased Idle A Bit, Either One Open (Removed) Increased Idle A Bit.
I adjusted the idle mixture screws and there’s a chance i could’ve done them wrong. Choke it until it floods out and dies (some guys manually close the choke at the same time) the. Couple shop towels, your hand, mother in law's muumuu, whatever.
